When Bach goes Jazz...

Certain structural similarities between baroque music and jazz have been known at the latest since Glenn Gould. In fact, a jazzy Bach works excellently, because the familiar melodies shine through, although the sound is much more contemporary and modern. With “Swinging Bach I & II,” organist Bernhard Lidl succeeds in artfully weaving together single motifs and melodies to create an exciting, harmonious whole. Groovy!
