Sudetendeutsches Museum (Sudete German Museum)

In 30-minute guided tours, visitors to the Long Night of Munich Museums will gain exclusive insights into the special exhibition “Human und menschlich ...? Die regulierte Vertreibung der Sudetendeutschen“ (Human and Humane ...? The Regulated Expulsion of the Sudeten Germans). Between January and November 1946, more than two million Sudeten Germans were expelled from the Czechoslovak Republic. According to the words of Czechoslovak President Edvard Beneš, this “regulated” expulsion was intended to be conducted in a “human and humane” manner. The exhibition title, marked by a prominent question mark, refers directly to this claim. Eighty years later, the special exhibition commemorates and reflects on these events.
