Discover the newly restored Museum Villa Stuck during the Long Night of Munich Museums, brighter, more open, and more beautiful than ever. Designed by Franz von Stuck himself as a “Gesamtkunstwerk” (total work of art), the artist’s residence is one of the most compelling examples of its kind from around 1900. To this day, it offers a compelling insight into the interplay of architecture, art, and everyday life, while showcasing Stuck’s work as a painter, sculptor, and graphic artist.
Two special exhibitions await visitors. “No Single View” by Ilit Azoulay features her characteristic photographic collages alongside the film “Mary,” in which 77 actresses portray Franz von Stuck’s daughter. In Ten Lives, artists Delschad Numan Khorschid and Jan-Hendrik Pelz explore themes of displacement, trauma, and longing.
