Munich’s newspapers, the Münchner Merkur und tz, will be presenting a colorful bouquet of sound for this year’s Long Night of Music. From 8 pm to 1 am, the Alte Rotation will be the venue for five bands from totally different genres.
First, the muziqme agency will be presenting four Munich acts: SOLDI, a project around Isolde Schmidt-Voigt, delivers well-known songs in its own funky guise.
... which are similar to those offered by singer and composer Alice Viola, who moves more into jazz.
Things will then calm down with Marina Marie, a singer-songwriter full of emotion who highly values her lyrics.
But then at midnight comes the main act, which means pure dance music when the band Afroson with singer Yeni Toro will be stirring up a Cuban sound shifting between son, rumba, jazz, and timba.
