Lukas Frese – The City and the Night

Frese combines impressionistic elements with contemporary realism in his oil paintings, which portray large cities, landscapes and people. He uses a dark color palette to dissolve scenery while depicting it realistically, generating an atmospherically dense world in which the light sets the scene for the subject. His works, often with a personal reference, immerse the viewer in a concentrated emotional world.
