Magic in the Museum for Sudetenland Germans

The Museum for Sudetenland Germans awakens to new life: An entertaining live narration tells the varied history of Sudetenland Germans from first settlement through conflicts and war to expulsion and new beginnings in Europe. For the Long Night, the museum will become “human,” in the true sense of the term, which will be expressed through the new art form of body painting. The building breathes, objects will be narrated and rediscovered within the context of Sudeten German history.

6 and 8 pm – midnight, hourly: 7-minute shows – innovative storytelling with elements of body art and colorful illustrations (at 6 pm in Czech, at 11 pm in English)

7 pm: curators take you into the world as experienced by Otfried Preußler.

The special exhibition, “Ein bisschen Magier bin ich schon …“ (I sure am a bit of a magician …) is available for viewing until late into the night.
In cooperation with the Adalbert Stifter Verein and the Isergebirgs-Museum Neugablonz

A Pinch of Sand and “The Little Ghost“

Not just night owls will get their thrills during this Long Night. At 2 pm and again at 4 pm, sand artist Nadia Ischia is inviting you to a magical performance in which pictures made of sand will tell Otfried Preußler’s story of “Das kleine Gespenst” (The Little Ghost). The artist herself will explain in a workshop at 3 pm how this art form came to be and how you can create sand art yourself.
(for children aged 4 and up, participation in the workshop possible at any time)
