Take a one hour walk from the first coins of the ancient Greeks around 650 BC to Cesar, Cleopatra, and Nero. You will discover talers, dollars and gulden as well as an extinct plant. Special exhibition for the anniversary of “1848. Als Deutschland Demokratie träumte” (when Germany dreamed democracy). Guest expert speaker will be Prof. Dr. Knut Görich holding brief talks about Friedrich II, King of Sicily (1194-1250), the “Amazement of the World.”

Come and discover the fascinating World at the Staatlichen Münzsammlung München (State Coin Collection Munich)!

2 – 5 pm: You will be able to paint posters, do puzzles, mint your own coins, and solve a thrilling quiz about coins. Design your own buttons and go off on an exciting treasure hunt! And more, you will also be able mint your own special coin for the Long Night on an old embossing machine. The museum can’t wait to welcome you!
