Theresienstraße 35 a, 80333 München
Art
During the Long Night, different works from contemporary art can be viewed behind colorful facades. “From Andy Warhol to Kara Walker. Scenes from the Brandhorst Collection” brings some of the museum’s classics into a dialogue with new acquisitions from recent years, displayed here for the first time.
On the upper floor, “La vie en rose. Brueghel, Monet, Twombly” awaits night owls. In “Untitled (Roses),” six monumental pictures with fragments of poetry, Cy Twombly processes traditional topics of flower symbolism: the intensity of memory, death and grief, sensuality and eroticism, salvation and also freedom and loneliness. In a dialog with this series of works, the exhibition investigates the multiple meanings of blossoms in painting beginning in the 16th Century and up until the present day.
The art information stand will answer any questions you may have about the exhibitions and offers brief introductions to their topics.
