The Long Night of Music

Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 8 pm to 3 am

ONE NIGHT – ONE CITY – 400 CONCERTS
Entry: 15 € incl. Shuttle Buses

What is the Long Night of Music?
Once a year, hundreds of concerts are on offer at over 100 venues spread throughout the entire city starting at 8 pm and lasting until 3 am. Not just the large concert houses take part; small music stages, bars and even churches also open their doors to the public. They all have one thing in common: the music is played live. Munich Transit MVG Shuttle Buses link up the venues.

Tickets
Tickets cost 15 € and are valid for entrance to all participating venues as well as for travel on MVG Shuttle Buses (but not on regular public transit services). The “Kombiticket” comes as a bracelet worn on the attendee’s wrist on the evening of the event. Tickets acquired in advance will be exchanged for bracelets at the first ticket box the attendee visits.

Where can you get tickets?
On the evening: There will be a box office at the Odeonsplatz (opening at 1 pm) and at every venue (opening at 8 pm). Price: 15 €. Pay at the first venue you visit. Then just show your bracelet.
Advance sales: At all venues and partners (price 15 €). Purchase at any other advance ticket office incurs a system fee. Online orders are possible up to 10 days before the event at www.muenchenticket.de.

Venues
The venues have been arranged in the program booklet based on their geographical location along four routes, and all have been given numbers. An alphabetical list can be found here.

MVG Shuttle Buses
Shuttle Buses will be operating every 10 minutes along four routes linking the venues. They are named for the areas they cover: Zentrum, Südwest, Schwabing and Ost. All routes intersect at the Odeonsplatz.
The tips can only be reached using regular transit services.
Visitors are free to choose where they want to “hook up” with the Long Night. They can base their visit on the routes, put together a personalized Music Night route or take their own short-cuts on foot.

Concerts/Music
We’ve put together the program, now you have the choice. And it won’t be an easy one with all that’s on offer: Rock and Pop, Classical and Sacred, Folk, Funk, Jazz, Latin, Reggae, Singers/Songwriters, Soul, Swing and everything in between. Many Munich bands will be up on stage but also a host of national and international guests.

Overcrowding
Please bear in mind that overcrowding can occur, especially at smaller venues. If you encounter some, just try out another venue instead. And if a Shuttle Bus is full, please wait for the next one. No requests for a reduc tion in the entry price will be entertained.

Homeward bound
The MVG Night Lines (“Nachtlinien”) operate from around 1 to 4 am. You will find the schedule at www.mvg.de.
