Ehemalige Karmeliterkirche (Former Carmelite Church)
LIFE. seems. in LIGHT. of the LABYRINTH
“Now choose life so that you may live … “ (Deuteronomy 30:19)
Whoever steps into this former Carmelite church this evening is already standing with both feet firmly planted on the ground – and is also being asked, as it were, to take time within the famous labyrinth of Chartres to follow their own but also prescribed circles at any speed they wish. This meditative journey is also impressively underscored by the light installation that turns the space of the church into an extraordinary experience for the senses.
This year's winner of the German Lichtdesign-Preis (Light Design Prize), Detlef Hartung and Georg Trenz, together with the Münchner Cityseelsorge (City Counselling Service), have composed a one-of-a-kind labyrinth installation exclusively for this Long Night. It is accompanied by brief impulses, music and opportunities to relax like those we also regularly need in our daily lives.
