Museum Mensch und Natur (Museum Human and Nature)

SOKO Madagascar –
a criminal case at the Museum Mensch und Natur

In this hands-on exhibition, visitors will become detectives and follow the evidence of “rare earths.” Here, they will find out what they need to know about the application of these elements, how they are mined and what problems come along with the extraction and use of these raw materials. Furthermore, they can also analyze the clues left behind by a criminal.

Knallbunt und unsichtbar (Colorful and invisible)
The special exhibition at the Museum Mensch und Natur entertains a program on color perception. What advantages at all do creatures have from seeing colors? How and why do animals differ as to which colors they can recognize? And what role does the brain play when seeing colors? Neurobiologist Prof. Wachtler explains the answers to these questions using experiments.
You’re also welcome during the Long Night to let yourself drift through the permanent exhibits, experience the earthquake simulator or take a turn of the tradition wheel of fortune. The CaféBar Limulus invites you to relax and enjoy a refreshment in a pleasant ambience.
